Before getting a quote from even one provider, sit down (the two of you, or the whole family involved) and come up with an honest total figure: how much you can afford to spend without compromising other goals. It’s tempting to start with an aspirational number and think, “We’ll figure out how to adjust as we go,” but that’s exactly what leads to surprises halfway through. The actual number—even if it seems less glamorous—is the one that will allow you to make decisions calmly.
Identify your three non-negotiable priorities
Not all weddings have the same needs. For some couples, the venue is everything; others prioritize the food; and still others prefer to invest in their guests’ experience. Choose a maximum of three priorities and decide where most of your budget will go. For everything else, look for honest, practical options without feeling guilty.
